Fittingly, my first blog post is about the new launch from Bourjois: UNE.

The range comprises approx. 150 products, boasting 98-100% natural formulas and eco-friendly packaging.

Upon receiving the samples to trial, my immediate impression was how sleek the packaging is. Reminiscent of technology with snappy slide-open functions, it is instantly desirable and appealing to the modern woman. In particular, I liked the generous mirrors which form the front of the packaging, making it convenient for travel or on-the-go touch-ups.

The PR thoughtfully sent me a selection of products suited to my colouring. Make no mistake, this isn't a brand for those who like to experiment with vibrant pigments. It's natural make-up in every sense and the press part of me wonders how UNE will develop and maintain interest. Having said this, they clearly understand their target customer and I can see this being a brand to quickly gain a loyal following after the initial curiosity purchase.

The products are a joy to use- smooth to apply with lasting formulas (although I did use a base of my beloved Lancome primer) and a variety of creams, powders, metallics, glosses and mattes, etc.. to suit a range of requirements. It's great to see that such a large cosmetics house has decided to launch a natural make-up range and proves just what a successful sector this market has become.

Although clearly set apart from the Bourjois brand in terms of packaging, etc.., my overall experience suggests that UNE will follow the philosophy of quality and value for money which has made Bourjois so well-loved. One to watch...
